Your Online Trauma Specialist
Early on in my education and training, I knew with certainty that I wanted to be in the helping profession. My interest in helping people came from a desire to empower others with the knowledge and skills I gained through my own healing journey.
I am a first-generation Mexican-American woman who has had to overcome many obstacles. My parents immigrated from Mexico to the U.S. in search of the American dream. They brought along their years of struggle, trauma, and generations of family dysfunction. They tried to provide as best as they could, however, what was provided for in basic care and needs was scarce in emotional support. Their main focus was trying to survive in a country that was foreign to them.
In spite of many life challenges, I was able to obtain a Masters Degree in Social Work. I was the first person in my family to graduate high school and college, opening up the idea to the rest of my family that anything is possible.
My healing journey has been guided by loved ones, friends, teachers, mentors, and therapists. Healing myself has helped me to have grace toward myself and others. Before getting into the helping profession, I was inspired to become an educator by a beloved teacher and friend. I came to the realization that I could fulfill my desire to teach by guiding others in their mental health journey as a therapist. I have had the privilege to serve in the mental health field for the past 20 years.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, EMDR certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Family Systems, and a certified Telehealth provider.
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”

My Therapy Approach
I lean into the therapy session by trying to understand where you are in your healing journey now. I will meet you where you are with compassion, respect, support, and non-judgment. I work in collaboration with each and every client to ensure that you feel that you have choices in how you move through your healing journey.
The therapeutic alliance between client and therapist aims to ensure that you feel heard, understood, and respected. I endeavor to help you achieve relief from your symptoms and have an open discussion about how we will track your progress utilizing an evidence-based treatment approach.
You may be feeling stuck in a perpetual cycle of worry and fear that things may never change. Being open and vulnerable with another person may seem intimidating when you first start therapy. Taking the first step toward healing can be unsettling, but you don’t have to go at it alone. The most rewarding part of my profession is meeting my clients where they are in some of the most challenging times of their lives and witnessing them flourish through newfound strength and resilience. I would be honored to work with you and support you in your journey
